If you are eligible for campus employment, it will be listed on your Final Financial Award Notification. Employment opportunities allow you to work on campus or at an off campus community service site, and earn a monthly paycheck while you attend Carroll College full time. Here is a partial list of the jobs available:

Academic Program Assistant
Involves working in the area of your choice. Typically this includes working as a professor's assistant (clerical duties) You will need to specify the area in which you would like to work.

Admissions
Includes giving tours to prospective students and their families, calling prospective students and various clerical duties

Occasional evening hours for calling will be required

Advancement/Alumni
The Advancement/Alumni office is looking for fun, dedicated employees to join their team. This team of students works together to connect with alumni and friends of Carroll College – keeping them updated on important Carroll events and securing support for the college.

Primarily evening shifts available; some day/office hours available.

Working in Advancement is a great resume builder. Other benefits include higher starting pay and opportunities to receive prizes and awards for top performance. Leadership positions are available for returning callers and top performers.

Athletics
Includes working in the Athletic Department. These positions can include, but are not limited to: weight room supervisor, gym monitor, equipment room, door monitor, registration desk, office assistants and working at athletic events in a variety of aspects

Business Office
Includes filing, journal checking, shredding, copying, assisting with accounting projects and other general office duties within the Business Office.

Campus Center
The associate position includes working at the information desk, answering phones and serving as informational source to the Carroll community and campus guests.

The position of building manager is also available, which includes monitoring facilities, insuring room set-ups and working at the information desk.

Campus Safety Assistant (Security)
Includes working in the Campus Safe-Walk Program, which students "buddy up" with another CSA to provide escorts to all college constituents and provide a " extra eyes and ears " by patrolling the campus

Includes working as a dispatcher, in which you are the first point of contact for people who come into the campus safety office. Duties include but are not limited to customer service, dispatching calls and monitoring radios.

Carroll College Academy
Includes clerical duties in the Carroll Academy office as assigned.

Experience in teaching or assisting in art and music programs is desirable.

Community Service (Federal Work Study Program)
Includes working off campus at a community service site.

Students can choose from a variety of sites including elementary schools, hospitals, outreach programs, etc.

Duplication/Mailroom
Includes performing duplication tasks as needed

Includes delivering mail and packages throughout campus.

 

Financial Aid Office
Includes clerical duties in the Financial Aid Office – answering phones, filing, assisting students/parents with basic questions regarding the financial aid process.

Food Service
Includes employment opportunities in a variety of positions: Secretary, cashier, serving line attendant, dining room attendant, dishwasher, cook's helper and on-call caterer.

With experience, students may work up to Student Manager or Student Meal Coordinator.

The benefits of working in food service are a higher starting rate of pay and a free meal when working over a mealtime.

Health Center
Includes preparing and filing charts, answering phones and data entry into the computer

Must adhere to confidentiality agreement

Information Technology Services (computer services)
Jobs may include the following:

Computer Lab Assistant: provides assistance to computer lab patrons

Help Desk Technician: staff ITS Help Desk and answer calls from faculty, staff and students.

IT Student Technician: assist IT technical staff with miscellaneous IT-related issues, including residence hall problems.

Language Assistant
Includes tutoring/helping students in the areas of French, German or Spanish.

Learning Commons Assistant
Includes working as a staff member monitoring the Learning Commons, assisting students with questions and tutoring.

Library Assistant
Includes servicing the circulation desk, shelving books, processing or organizing library materials, monitoring the library classroom and completing special projects as assigned.

Mailroom/Receiving Assistant
Includes collection, sorting, distribution and delivery of daily mail and packages.

May include loading and unloading of trucks. Work in inclement weathe.r

Must have no physical limitations, and have a valid US driver’s license and insurable under the College’s insurance plan.

Open Recreation
Includes working with the Intramural Program. These positions can include, but are not limited to: Weight room supervisor, lifeguard, gym monitor, office assistant, registration desk and monitoring intramural events

Includes coordinating and facilitating recreational activities

Part-time Studies Office
Includes clerical duties in the Part-time Studies Office.

Physical Plant
Includes a variety of seasonal projects such as: cutting grass, planting flowers, painting, carpentry work and other duties as assigned.

Registrar
Includes general office duties emphasizing customer service along with clerical support and special projects in the Registrar’s Office.

Secretary
General clerical duties in a department with an available position.

Sports Information
Includes keeping statistics during various sporting events.

Student Life
Includes clerical duties in the Student Life Office, monitoring the front desk and providing support at campus activities and events.

Switchboard (Front Desk Assistant)
Includes working as a front desk assistant in one of the residence halls.

This position would include answering phones, stuffing mailboxes and handing out items such as vacuums, VCR's, etc.

Walter Young Center (Career & Counseling Center)
Includes clerical duties in the Walter Young Center.
