In today's service- and information-based society, a liberal arts education is more valuable than ever. At Carroll University, faculty in the Sociology Program realize this and work to help students understand the changing nature of the social world in which they live. We are concerned that our students comprehend the significant issues of our time and feel competent to grapple with them. As a sociology major, you will be challenged to cultivate a sociological imagination and think outside the box on a variety of topics.

Upon graduating, you will be prepared to access the social world through a variety of channels, such as moving on to graduate school, or working in the community, business sector, government or an NGO. Recent sociology graduates have gone on to a wide array of fields, ranging from the Peace Corps, to marketing, to operating a CSA farm business. Our students are taught to be entrepreneurial in their work life and to creatively engage the social world as conscientious citizens. We want you to succeed in all aspects of your life. Our goal is to create leaders who change the world. Come and prepare for the future with us.
